“买房”的英文表达

　　中国人说 “买房子”是不区分独栋房屋和公寓式单元的，这时候用buy a home比较好。例如，

　　1.  He and Ruth bought a large, expensive home in a prestigious neighborhood, and when the kids came along, created what appeared to be the perfect life for themselves.

　　2.  Good options for both first-time home buyers and older folks who are ready to downsize…

　　如果说“买楼”，通常指的是购买公寓式单元，部分产权属于业主，部分产权共有，这时候比较准确的说法是buy a condo/condominium。例如，

　　If your version of the American dream doesn‘t include mowing the lawn, think about buying a condo.

　　用apartment/flat也可以，但可能与出租的公寓混淆【Apartment与condo只是法律意义上的区别，在外观上无法区分】。如果说“买独栋房子”则可以用buy a house。例如，

　　1.  After spending some time in renting business you’ll realise that you should stop throwing away money on rent month after month, and buy a house or an apartment.

　　2.  People who rent out apartments or homes are called “landloards”.

　　当然，“买房子”涉及法律意义上的“不动产”概念，即real estate/immovable property，也通常叫做“地产”或“房产”。例如，

　　In my opinion, it is always better to have liquid, easily-accessible cash (in mutual funds or high-yield savings accounts) than it is to have your money tied up in real estate.
